In her Ted Talk title The Danger of a Single Story Chimimanda Adichie discuss the one perspective. She talk about how having a single story about one group can cause assumption that can lead to misunderstanding. She connected it to her life by telling the story of how she was guilty of having a single perspective and also how it affected her when others had one about her.
She also highlighted the power of media on creating stereotypes in today's society.
I relate to this topic as when I was coming to the US I came with a lot of anticipations on what it should be like based on movies I was watching but the reality wasn't the same. In the other hands I also faced situations where people made assumptions about me based on the little things they khow about Africa.
I think that to help with this issue people shuld be open to more than one perspective, do research on topic we hear and make sure to fact check.
