Slavery in cuba had a lot of differences with American Slavery. The authors mentioned that slaves and masters easily joined and even lived in the same neighborhoods. But even after Fidel Castro put an end to "racism" with legislations, Cuba face the same racial problems as black african Americans. One thing that surprised me while learning about Cuba was the effort of universal access to education in 1961 by seding an army of teanagers to teach millions cubans how to read and write.
